360 Play MK to undergo refurbishment and upgrade project

Date Posted:21/03/2016

360 PlayVisitors to 360 Play Milton Keynes are in for a treat in the near future with the city’s popular family entertainment centre set to undergo a major refurbishment and refit work in the coming weeks.

It’s now been eight years since the revolutionary flagship store first opened its doors and since then it has welcomed over 1.2 million visitors. Reflecting the company’s continued investment in the centre, the projects team will move in on April 18th to create the new look and refreshed 360 Play and will open it back up again on April 29th with a grand welcome party.

Some of the best elements of the more recently opened centres elsewhere in the country will be incorporated to add further to the great experience on offer for children of all ages, and their families, while to help provide an improved visitor flow and a better experience for the youngest of visitors, a brand new toddler area is being created. This section will also have a new home away from the main play structure in the venue’s revised layout.

Since 360 Play MK opened, the design and development team who conceived the first venue have also built additional centres in Stevenage, Leicester and Basildon but now the focus is back on the flagship store in Milton Keynes, with plans to deliver some of the improvements learned along the way to further enhance the original 360 Play. Although not yet revealing exactly what these plans are, staff are  already hard at work on ideas and designs that will bring a new and improved look and feel to the centre, with the design team and workshops at nearby Linford Wood busy creating the new features.

Duncan Phillips, founder and managing director, said: “It’s great to be focusing on the store that started our national growth and to bring in some of the new ideas and techniques we have learnt along our journey over the last six years. The foundations of an all-inclusive family experience that promotes the philosophy of the whole family playing together started here and we have some great new elements we are putting in to increase the fun.”

The centre already includes a wide range of fun, active and imagination inspiring elements such as a huge central play frame, bumper cars, a carousel and the 360 Street creative play area, as well as the Club 360 outdoor play section. And in recognition of the closure of 360 Play as the work is carried out, all current annual pass holders will be given a free extra month’s membership.
