A Merry Little Christmas at intu MK

Date Posted:11/11/2015

The nights are drawing in, the temperature is dropping, and more and more people are donning their cosiest hats and scarves – winter is here and this can only mean one thing – Christmas is well on its way!

Christmas has kicked off for intu with the launch of its national Christmas advert at 11am on Wednesday 4 November.  The minute-long, magical video is filled with nostalgia and is sure to unleash the inner-child in everyone – come and play at intu Milton Keynes this Christmas.

Christmas cheer will be spreading through the shopping centre from Thursday 12 November as the shopping centre sees 20 beautifully decorated Christmas trees fill the malls.  ‘Oh Christmas Tree’ is a charity campaign in association with Argos and Homebase, which have generously donated the trees.  Businesses in Milton Keynes have sponsored the trees and will be decorating them to be displayed in the shopping centre for three weeks.  Shoppers are invited to vote for their favourite and all trees will be auctioned off with MKFM.  The sponsorship fee and the money raised from the auction goes directly to the company’s charity of choice.  The winning bidders get to take their chosen tree home, complete with decorations, in time for Christmas.

On Friday 13 November, the people of MK are invited to join intu Milton Keynes as it lights up for Christmas at 5:30pm.  Everyone’s favourite mascots will be in the shopping centre from 3pm, including intu Milton Keynes’ very own Bobby Bubbles, Gulliver’s Land’s Gully and Gilly, and 360 Play’s Twizzle and Twirl; there will also be free face painting and entertainment from MKFM.  The intu Milton Keynes Kids’ Club will be hosting a ‘Letter to Santa’ workshop where children can write and post their letter to Father Christmas – they will even receive a reply before Christmas Eve.

Black Friday takes place on 27 November this year and is set to be bigger and better than ever before.  intu Milton Keynes will be open longer, from 9am – 9pm, so shoppers can make the most of the deals on offer.  The Black Friday offer wall will be back, displaying all of the incredible discounts available within the centre on Black Friday and throughout the weekend.

The intu Milton Keynes gift wrap service is returning this year in partnership with the Cornerstone Christmas Appeal. Volunteers from various charities will be offering their wrapping skills to help raise funds which will be shared between them, there are 19 charities involved in total. intu Milton Keynes will be providing all wrapping materials so 100% of the donations will go directly to the charities. The gift wrap service will be officially opened by the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr. Keith McLean, at midday on Black Friday, 27 November, and will be open daily until Christmas Eve.
