Fifteen-year-old Singer-Songwriter and Britain’s Got Talent hopeful, Bailey McConnell, wowed an unanticipated number of fans at intu Milton Keynes (formerly Midsummer Place Shopping Centre) this weekend.
Bailey attracted a crowd of over 1,200 fans when he attended a meet and greet at the Shopping Centre on Saturday. Due to the number of visitors there on the day, Bailey stayed an extra hour to perform, take photos with his young fans and sign autographs.
A well known face around the City, Bailey has been performing locally over the past year but his recent audition on Britain’s Got Talent saw his following rise dramatically. Bailey is currently waiting to find out if he’s through to the live semi-final stage of the competition.
intu Milton Keynes gave away all 1,000 limited edition wristbands to visitors to show support for Bailey in the competition.
Martin Hindson, General Manager, said: “Saturday was a brilliant event for us, we were incredibly proud to be able to host the meet and greet with Bailey. It’s amazing to see so many young people in the Centre, as well as getting to meet Bailey; they got to have a little shop! We all have our fingers crossed for him and will be watching to see if he gets through to the next round.”
Bailey commented: “It was so exciting to have so many people turn up to see me; I could have spent another hour saying hi and taking pictures! intu Milton Keynes has been so supportive of me, they helped me put together my whole look and hosting the meet and greet was great.”
intu Milton Keynes is the new name for Midsummer Place Shopping Centre. The Centre was acquired by intu Properties PLC in March 2013, the name change is the first stage in an exciting rebrand for the Shopping Centre.
