Gail Emms and The Casino MK go Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Date Posted:22/09/2015

Gail Emms and The Casino MKPopular Milton Keynes entertainment venue, The Casino MK, the largest casino outside London, has taken a novel twist on the traditional game Blackjack, developing a female-friendly ‘Pink Jack’ table for the month of October.

Not only that, anyone hitting the magical ‘Pink Jack’  can celebrate with a complimentary glass of Bottega Rose Gold, courtesy of the venue.

It’s all part of The Casino MK’s plans to show their support and fundraise for Breast Cancer Awareness Month during October. Karen Andrew, Marketing Manager, explains; “The Casino MK is part of the Aspers Group, who are unique in the UK for putting huge emphasis on design and décor, creating aesthetically superior light and spacious venues, rather than the traditionally dark and small gambling rooms you might expect. As a result, since opening the Casino MK has become extremely popular with women, who make up a large part of our customer base.

Our research shows women really enjoy the social aspect of the casino night out, relaxing and sharing the unique experience with groups of friends. To support this we have created a special low stakes ‘Pink Jack’ table aimed at our female customer base. Our drinks partner Bottega, who supply us with both Bottega Gold and Bottega Rose Gold, offered to get on board too, and we saw an opportunity at the same time to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness.”

Former Silver medal winning Olympian and Milton Keynes resident, Gail Emms MBE, herself a keen Blackjack player, was happy to lend her support to the fundraising cause, and is hosting a charity fundraiser on 30 September to launch the month-long activities. Gail commented; “As a naturally competitive person I enjoy the challenge of Blackjack but I also really love the social side that The Casino MK offers, especially to women who might otherwise feel intimidated in a more old school casino venue. The ‘Pink Jack concept’ is a really fun idea and I am delighted to be lending my support to a cause as important for women as Breast Cancer awareness.”

Throughout the month of October the Casino will donate £1 from every glass of Bottega Gold or Bottega Rose Gold purchased to Breast Cancer Awareness charities. Customers must be aged over 18 to enter, and ID will be required from anyone appearing to be under 21 years of age.
