‘Nature Day’ is a free event for all ages to enjoy which will include nature walks, bug hunting, a reptile display, pond dipping, static owl display and children’s activities.

Briony Fox, Head of Community Engagement at The Parks Trust, said: “This is a great opportunity to explore Howe Park Wood and the surrounding area. There will be a chance to speak to experts about the wildlife, take part in fun activities whilst enjoying the outdoors. There is something for everyone from nature walks and guided tours to pond dipping.”

This year, Milton Keynes Natural History Society will be on hand to provide additional advice, with a very special meaning behind their involvement. Chair of the Milton Keynes Natural History Society, Julie Lane said: “It’s great that Milton Keynes Natural History Society has joined forces with The Parks Trust to hold a ‘Nature Day’ at Howe Park Wood.

"This day is being held in memory of Bernard Frewin, who is a founding member of the society. Its aim is to show local people the delights of this beautiful wood, so hopefully lots of you will come along to enjoy the day."

The Howe Park Wood, Education & Visitor Centre is the first facility of its kind to be owned and operated by The Parks Trust in Milton Keynes.

This event is open to all. Please meet in the car park on H7, Chaffron Way opposite the Westcroft Centre. No booking necessary.
