Jack & Jones shows Christmas spirit for Milton Keynes' homeless

Date Posted:21/11/2017

Jack Jones intu Milton KeynesClothing retailer, Jack & Jones in intu Milton Keynes has shown its true Christmas spirit, by making an overwhelmingly generous donation to homeless people in Milton Keynes.

Last week, the manager of Jack & Jones, Ashley Vendy donated over 400 brand new items of clothing to The Bus Shelter MK, including underwear, jeans, jackets, jumpers, gloves and hats. The items were all marked as slightly faulty and unable to sell in store, therefore, Ashley decided to support the shopping centre’s charity of the year and campaign to help homeless people in Milton Keynes, The Bus Shelter MK.

General manager at intu Milton Keynes, Shelley Peppard said: “We were staggered when Jack & Jones approached us with 10 boxes full of clothes, this is such an incredibly valuable gesture and I cannot thank Ashley and her team enough. Clothing at this time is so important and will make a huge difference to many lives this winter.”

intu Milton Keynes has been supporting The Bus Shelter MK campaign by raising over £30,000 to transform an ex touring bus into a place of accommodation, sanitary, and hope for people that have found themselves living on the street.

The shopping centre is also launching its Giving Tree this Christmas where shoppers can donate items of food or clothing that will be shared amongst four local charities, The Bus Shelter MK, Open Door, Winter Nights Shelter MK and Help our Homeless MK.
