Learn about rural life on Open Farm Sunday

Open Farn SundayFor the first time Hounslow Hall Estate, supported by Experience the Country are opening their doors to the public and local communities for Open Farm Sunday on 7th June 2015.

The industries’ national open day has been running since 2006, it is managed by LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) and is backed by the Governments Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

The day is for adults and children and the main idea is to educate and enthuse with all things country, from local produce, to where food comes from. Gates open at 10am and shut at 4pm. Entry is free for everyone and includes a free farm tour. The aim is to have fun whilst learning about farm life.

A farm tour, machinery display, local produce stalls and a large picnic area will all be available. Experience the Country will also be offering activities (at an extra cost) and these will include; Segways, clay pigeon shooting, 4x4 trips, archery and much, much more.
