#LoveMK Day gets a real 'lift'

LoveMK Day MKFMAs Destination Milton Keynes, the city’s official tourism organisation, gears up for the 3rd #LoveMK Day on Thursday 30 April 2015, a local business has given the promotion a real ‘lift’.

It has been announced that MKFM will officially launch #LoveMK Day from 7.30am on 30 April and to celebrate local company Niftylift Worldwide took MK Breakfast Show presenter Oliver Dean up high to get one heck of a view overlooking the city.

Clutching his #LoveMK Day poster Oliver was taken up to over 20 metres at the company’s new headquarters in Shenley Wood and took in the spectacular views of the cityscape, whilst having a few photos taken and even taking a phone call while he was up there.


The aim of #LoveMK Day is not only to promote Milton Keynes as a leisure and business destination but also to harness the pride that many people have in their city. The visitor economy is worth over £200 million to the area and by encouraging the MK community to get involved in promoting their own city, it could increase the wider benefits even further.

Oliver Dean said “MKFM can’t wait to officially launch #LoveMK Day on the MK Breakfast Show, we’ll definitely be having some fun and doing a few challenges, so get involved and remember to use that hashtag!”

Jess Bowden from Niftylift Worldwide commented, “Niftylift have been located in Milton Keynes for 25 years and we are very proud to support #LoveMK Day, and with the help of our products give people a different view of our wonderful city.”

Destination Milton Keynes is asking the MK Twitter community to use the hashtag #LoveMK on all their tweets on 30 April to try and get it trending in the UK, as it did last year. And why not get creative – maybe create a banner, get your school involved, paint your face, knit a jumper, bake a cake – anything you can use #LoveMK on! And share it with us on social media.
