MP’s Christmas Card Design Competition 2014

Date Posted:08/12/2014

Christmas card designs by primary school children from Milton Keynes feature in this December’s MK Gallery Project Space exhibition (5 December 2014 – 4 January 2015).

The design competition is organised annually by City MPs Mark Lancaster and Iain Stewart, in partnership with local schools.

A team of local volunteers select the winning designs to feature on the front of each MP’s personal Christmas card for 2014. Designs by the runners up in the Christmas card competition will also feature as smaller “thumbnail” prints on the reverse of the cards.

MK Gallery’s Formal Learning Manager, Hannah Gaunt, said: “This year the MPs asked school pupils to respond to the theme of ‘Concrete Cows – with a twist!’. We are looking forward to seeing the resulting designs, which will no doubt reflect the humour and imagination of the children, as well as the festive mood of the season.”

MK Gallery's Project Space, located in Margaret Powell Square opposite the main gallery, is made available to the MK Community for monthly exhibitions of contemporary visual art by individuals or groups based in Milton Keynes.  Exhibitions are accessible during advertised gallery opening hours and admission is free.
