Making a Business of Tourism Expo announced

Making a Business of TourismExperience Bedfordshire and Destination Milton Keynes join forces to host leading industry event

Two of the region’s top leisure and tourism organisations are working together to host, what is hoped will become, a must attend event in the business and tourism calendar. Making a Business of Tourism, supported by the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP), will take place at Millbrook Venues’ unique and versatile Concept 1 building on 27th March 2015.

This free to attend* event will provide an ideal opportunity to meet buyers from key local tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, suppliers and independent businesses, and network with peers to hear advice from key industry experts on achieving success in your business.
As part of its ethos to engage local businesses and communities, Making a Business of Tourism has teamed up with Milton Keynes College’s new creative studio, The Design House. The student-led facility, which offers graphic design and photography services to local businesses, has designed the logo and brand identity for the event.

Viviane Vayssieres, CEO of Experience Bedfordshire said: “Following the success of a similar exhibition held in 2013, we have identified a huge demand for this type of event in the Bedfordshire area. Working with partner organisation Destination MK will enable us to take the event to the next level and offer exhibitors and visitors from both counties the opportunity to network and share their knowledge, experience and best practice.

Steven Gordon-Wilson, CEO of Destination MK explained: “We are delighted to become a part of the Making a Business of Tourism event and look forward to hosting a successful exhibition that is of great benefit to local and regional businesses.

“Involving The Design House has also been a very successful and rewarding experience, enabling the students to take part in designing the identity of a brand that we hope will be established for many years, and many successful events to come.”

Speaking of the event, Nick Webb, CEO of The Forest of Marston Vale Trust who exhibited at Making a Business of Tourism in 2013, said: “Making a Business of Tourism is a unique opportunity to network with other visitor economy related organisations in a unique and impressive venue. The leads that were generated in 2013 led to a new solid working relationship that has been extremely beneficial for both parties.”
