Central to the event will be the main stage arena, which will play host to a wide range of activities including musical and dramatic performances, live catwalk shows and interactive cook-offs during the course of the weekend.

In addition, Stars of the Future will host the College’s annual Creative Arts exhibition plus a fully-working hair and beauty lounge offering a range of complimentary treatments.

Each of the four days of the event will have its own individual theme, which will be as follows: -
-    Thursday 16th June: Art, Design and Fashion
-    Friday 17th June: Hair and Beauty
-    Saturday 18th June: Creative, Music and Performing Arts
-    Sunday 19th June: Catering and Hospitality
Thursday’s events will feature the launch of this year’s Creative Arts exhibition while Friday’s activities centre around the live finals of 2016’s Barber of the Year contests for professionals and students.

Judges for the Barber of the Year contest include Simon Shaw, European Artistic Director from Wahl (UK) who are sponsoring the contest. Simon is among the most inspiring and motivating hairdressers within the industry, known for his innovative and fun approach to hairdressing and education.

Throughout the day on Saturday, the main stage area will come to life with live performances from the College’s Performing Arts students followed by demonstrations from the extremely talented Fashion and Make-up Artistry learners.

Closing out the week’s events on Sunday will be the College’s Catering and Hospitality students, with a series of head-to-head cook-offs and live demonstrations, bringing culinary skills and creative flair to life. MK College Principal and CEO, Dr Julie Mills, believes that the event has all the ingredients to be a great success. She said: “Everyone associated with Stars of the Future is looking forward to the week with great anticipation. With such an array of exciting and engaging activities, there’s something for everyone who may be visiting Centre: MK during the week with the talents and skills of the College’s learners at the heart of the event.”

“By holding this kind of spectacular showcase, we’re able to really show off the hard work and dedication that takes place across the College and behind the scenes throughout the year from all those involved – students, teachers and our employer partners. It’s a genuinely exciting opportunity to share our stars with the community of Milton Keynes and show what they are capable of.”
