Try something different with the children this Easter break!

Date Posted:19/03/2019

Ride High Equestrian EasterOne of Milton Keynes’ best kept secrets is the Ride High Equestrian Centre (RHEC).  Tucked away in Loughton, the Centre’s 37 acres are just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre and easy to reach by car and train.

This Easter the Ride High Equestrian Centre is offering a full programme of activities, ranging from “Pony Hour” and “Have a Go” sessions for beginners, right through to 3 day pony camps for children who are able to ride independently and want a totally immersive horsey experience.  The Centre is also offering led hacks this Easter, for children from 4+ and adults weighing under 13 stone, to try riding horses outside of the enclosed riding school environment.

A new offering for Easter is the “Adult Equestrian Experience”:  On Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday it’s not just the children who can enjoy spending the day as an equestrian trainee!  Adults can also spend a day with the RHEC team, learning more about the care of our horses. They will be allocated a horse for the day, bring it in from the field, get involved with grooming, tacking up and of course an hour’s riding! During the day they will also learn more about the feeding and care of the horse and its tack, have the chance to take part in an agility session, ask questions and get very hands-on with the horses.
Pre-booking for all equestrian activities is essential, and you can find out more about what’s on here:

The Ride High Equestrian Centre is home to the children’s charity, Ride High, which works with disadvantaged children in Milton Keynes and has helped more than 1,000 local children since it began 10 years ago.  The Ride High Equestrian Centre was founded as a social enterprise to provide a permanent home for the charity and any profits from the Centre are used to further the charity’s work and help more children.
